Travel Math

Have been back only a couple of hours, and the Old Man re-did the Travel Math (just to make sure the decision to rent a car was correct).

To Fly: Two airline tickets $640+rental car from Spokane $287 (smaller car)+ $120 in gas+$64 for airport parking in Indy+$60 gas to get to Indy=$1,171.

Rented car from here$460+$660 gas=$1,120. Also taking two passengers there and three passengers back)

Driving his car $ 908. (Plus 4,000 miles on his car +oil+ wear and tear)

Difference ($1,121 minus $908=$212) and no 4,000 miles on his car.

He did the correct thing by renting.

Gee... think we could have told him that a few months ago????
Have to love the math!!
