Why is it, when there is stress in one part of your daily activities, it dumps over to other parts of your life?
Remember back when the van was being worked on for Family Reunion? Well, it never did get fixed, so we took it off the insurance. This makes sense, and lowers the bill. On the other hand, we now do not have a back up vehicle when my car (or someone else's car) won't run.
I have missed out on going to sorority alum stuff because the church people are way to needy and plan events at the same time. This causes some stress, as I would rather be with other ladies with brains than put up with whiners. Perhaps their whining has put me in a grumpy mood?
Now I do have to be careful about mentioning things at The Old Man's work place. They have people at the Headquarters (or other mystery places) that surf the net looking for posts (you tube, resumes, etc.) that workers might be submitting. Shh, don't tell!
The VP has been camped out in the plant for several months, and prior to that was making monthly visits. Now, once a month visits are not a bad thing, but when they become a more than that, it gets stressful. From what I have heard, this VP is a micro-manager, hind sighter and what I would call a bully. After a little research, I have found that good businesses do not micro-manage. To paraphrase Theodore Roosevelt: Hire good men to do their jobs and don't mess with them. Some studies have shown that micro-managing and bullying is actually counter productive. Employees lose their spark and initiative, many have health problems do to the stress which all leads to less products being made and losing money.
So, on Thursday, the boss was fired. The Old Man was threatened with you maybe next. Now we have gone through this before, but this time the Old Man said it just felt different. When he came home from work on Sunday (yes, even after 12 hour weekdays, he puts in time on weekends!), he had started to clear out his office. Some workers probably won't notice and some might. He said he had gone through his desk drawers and thrown out stuff. There was just something about his way when he opened the box to show me what he had brought home.
Yes we are looking into other possibilities. Since the Old Man has never been let go in his career, he is not fond of the idea of looking.
And I did mention a new suit for job met and greets. Don't think the 14 year old sport coat will cut the mustard.

The Old Man heard about some comments that were made about the cleared off desk, credenza and window sill. All were from co-workers and in fun.
