Roller Coaster Plan

Yesterday we went with Plan A to Plan B to Plan C, and not directly in that order.

Started out with a really hot day and the Old Man under the van trying to get out a bolt (Head had twister off). He went to the auto parts store, added the "installs in minutes" parts and took a test drive. It didn't go well. To Plan B.

Daughter #1 had said plane fares had decreased. He did the Travel Math. (Cost of driving to an airport, airport parking cost, air fare, car rental and gas costs versus his car and MPG.) Still cheaper to drive, plus trying to re-arrange the girlfriends return flight.

I caught the Old Man checking rental car prices. When I asked, he was "looking at my options."
Later on, I mentioned a rental car with BETTER gas mileage than his car and how it affected the Travel Math. Getting a vehicle with better MPG would save, so started the search.

He will call today to check on a car (notice I said car, not SUV or van) and redo the math.

Some of us are MORE worried about getting to and from the Reunion without breaking down than comfort. Although comfort levels are being taken into consideration (for those having to share a seat with others ) Luggage space is a concern, as his car does have a huge trunk versus a newer rental car has small space.

Think the in-laws have finally figured out this is NOT funny. They have asked when we have seen them and they have been calling.

So, will it be Plan B or Plan C ?????
