Note to self and others: The Father of the Groom or Bride needs an agenda. This agenda should be started months in advance with ALL the projects listed that need to be FINISHED two weeks before the wedding date. The projects also needs an explanation as to WHY they need to be FINISHED and a clear completion date for each. I believe he needs a calendar (or some other visual aid) just for this purpose.
This agenda should have a shopping list to go along with each project. If the project calls for nails, buy MORE (backup). You know he will never find the ones he has in stock (they are there somewhere, but it takes half a day to locate just the right ones in the garage.. aka lost time).
I have come to realize that the Father (The Old Man) looks at the last two weeks as a time to start these projects. Perhaps he sees all the activities/plans/events everyone is working on or attending and he realizes that he needs to be doing something.
The two weeks before the wedding the Father needs an agenda for wedding plans to be finalized. This includes haircut, checking what shirt to wear to the rehearsal (does it still fit?), all menus are discussed and checked.
Just saying....
