Landed in Spokane and picked up the rental car. The car was a silver PT Cruiser. At times, I think the Old Man thought it was a HumV. He wanted to see snow on the mountain tops, and he did!!
We checked out Scout's 1&2 favorite spots and found ours.
My favorite, which didn't make the list, incuded breakfast, lunch and a four course dinner by a Chef. Not a cook, but a chef! If every staff member was like the receptionist, we would be having a flaming good time!
Okay, so the Old man found his favorite too, that was also cut from the list. An old two story cabin in National Forrest country. The ground floor was just for sleeping, the second had a sleeping area, wood burning stove, and had some food. With these type of cabins, you are suppose to leave something for the next camper. We left Holiday Inn cups, soap, Southwest Airlines dried fruit, matches and the Old Man left a cigar and a beer. Just wait for the CD of this place!
So, we ended up driving 2200+ miles on our trip. We did find a place near Glacier. Of course the Old Man did the math on the cost of the three top contenders and found ours would be cheaper... if all the beds were filled. Doing the math, takes out all the emotion. Things like beautiful lake view, charm of the cabins, ect. I think the top one will be approved by most. Very, very nice accomodations, good location to local attractions, lots to see and do, and a banquet room for meals.
Well, we both made it back.
